- International projects- „Living near the water – aspects of life“

The students and teachers of the participating schools from Germany (coordination), Denmark, France, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Portugal initiated a multilateral project on the topic  „Living near the water-aspects of life“. The main aim of the project was to learn from each other about the aspects – pollution, migration, flora and fauna, healthy lifestyle – that connect us with water. The common denominator for all partner institutions is that their cities are located on or nearby water, and that is how they are symbolically connected. The students took part in all stages of the project – preparation, presentation and feedback. Students, with their teachers, researched about differences and similarities of flora and fauna, levels of pollution, immigration and emigration, cultures and people, healthy lifestyle (water sports and seafood) and compared environmental changes from the past to modern day.

The results of our project are posted on EST (European Shared Treasure) platform. The results focused on four main perspectives – nature and environment, health, culture and tradition, migration. The main activities carried out were beach cleaning, scientific profiles of local water bodies, research on migration aspects, eco-tour itinerary, research on students’ eating habits and involvement in water sports, historic legends, creating a logo. All activities focus on the importance of water in our lives. The students and teachers strengthened their intercultural competence during the close collaboration of the European partner schools. The communication about the project took place in English to improve social and language skills of all participating people.
